1 and only Cobalier is gone

Well everyone the one and only Cobalier is gone. I was on Barrett tonight (0ct 14) for about 5 minutes then i had to leave to go to this girl im dateing's house and get her then we went to Cheesecake factory. Im gettin rid of the car and tradin it in, so come Saturday (oct 15) afternoon the cobalt SS Supercharged motor is comin out and the stock Ecotec 2.2 is goin back in. If i traded it in with a different motor than what came stock they wouldnt give me as much. Well i just wanted to let everyone know that. So the first, and only to my knowledge, cobalt SS motor swap in a cavalier is about to be no more.

Well the same could be said about swapping an SR into a Sentra... except you'll go a little faster while being different.

I never gave the car a second look because I figured it was just another automatic Cavalier with a fart pipe.

I think it's kinda depressing that the cars gonna be gone, it's probably the only decent "Cavalier" that I'd have had the opportunity to come across.

I don't know you, nor have a I ever met you Cobalier but nice job on building a different car amongst more of the same.

no your wrong about the girl part i was just sayin basically what i did last night after i left barrett and y i was leaving, she has nothin to do with it, honestly. yes the motor is a stock Cobalt SS supercharged motor nothin special but nobody else has it so i guess it is a little special. no it wasnt hard at all to put it in. And yes i built it to be different, was it a waste of time naw not really, but i do think im gonna give it another week or so and seriously think on this for a while. And thank you estis fatuus for the compliment

Dunno if it's bs or not, but know alot of good points were brought up in this thread and the cavalier I saw last night definatly seem like anything impressive (doesn't necessarily mean he's lying, seeing as how cobalt ss's aren't impressive either)... and me and my friends were actually making fun of it (one of the reasons I recalled seeing the yellow cavvy out there)..

The stock Cobalt motor is the same as a stock Cavy motor 2.2 Ecotec. The SS Cobalt has a 2.0 Ecotec with a supercharger

2.2 Ecotec (stock Cavy/stock Cobalt)

Horsepower 145 @ 5600 RPM
Torque 155 @ 4000 RPM

2.0Ecotec with a supercharger (Cobalt SS)

Horsepower 205 @ 5600 RPM
Torque 200 @ 4400 RPM

I guess if we are all bullshittin here then I have a 2005 Cavy with a Cobalt swap as well

Oh and dont ask me how hard it is to do it cuz that is how it came from the dealer

as i said before, i was never calling bs on him, but, how does on pull off the swap without:
1) Pics
2) Locating a 06 Cobalt SS motor
3) I never heard the supercharge on his car
4) No one can corraborate his claims of having a Swap
5) NO DYNO

Its simple man, post up pics, and a dyno, and im sure everyone will stop.

Okay..

10pm last night.

The cobalier is a no show on barrett last night but I do talk to his friend who has the kid on the phone while I'm talking to him. He says he's going to pull the motor soon, so ''if I wanted a race, i needed to hurry. it would only be around a few more days.''

Fast forward 12 hours later.

My buddy sees the Cobalier driving down Barrett. Asks if he's the kid with the Cobalt motor and he said he ''used to be'' and that he ''pulled the motor out last night''

My buddy asks if he wants to sell the Cobalt motor, and surprisingly, it's ''already been sold and picked up''.

If this moron had this kind of turnaround time on engine swaps, he wouldn't be driving a Cavalier and making $5.50 an hour.
