What is "3rd hand" smoke? Like maybe when the original smoker exhales and the closest person inhales that exhalation and exhales that and then the next person over inhales the second exhalation making him the third person to inhale the original's smoke? Later, QD.

Don't get me wrong, I think it is a bad/gross/unhealthy habit, but I think that smokers should be allowed to smoke in bars. I don't like it around me when I am eating, but I don't care in a bar.

You CAN smoke in bars, you just gotta drive a ways to get there. I'm lucky to live in a smoke friendly county. I quit several years ago (Marlboro Milds FTW) but I do enjoy the smell still. It's gross, but it brings me back to the good 'ole days.

That's what an ignorant person would think but both you and I clearly don't think that way.

I doubt secondhand smoke from the lungs of smokers is of much threat. However the smoke that comes straight from the cigarette (not twice filtered like second hand smoke) is NASTY and probably 30x worse.

Havent smoked since September of last year... I finished a pack and said fuck it...its not that hard to stop.

It smells bad, makes your breath smell like dead things and makes your teeth look yellow. I remember when I did smoke, I was even happy about not being able to smoke in bars cause my clothes didnt smell like 10000000000 old ashtrays.

I quit cold turkey almost 8 years ago now. I can't believe it has been that long! I smoked Reds for 15 years. 2 packs a day. Dan said he was going to break up with me if I didn't, so that was my motivation. I didn't touch a cig for like 4 years, but occasionally when I get really drunk and I see someone else with one, I will have 1 or 2 or 10...but I totally regret it the next day. This only happens about 1 or 2 times a year, so no biggie.

So yea, now I can actually smell, my food tastes different and I can smell a smoker as soon as he/she walks in the door.

Well I quit due to multi reasons.. but like tracy when I do drink [cause I quit that as well] Ill have one or more, or when Im stressed out. At one point I thought it was "ok" or "cool" but whatever now I rather be healthy than being easlily tired.

shouldn't be a problem, but if you do make it past 60, you get a cool lung machine or oxygen tank to carry around with you...

If it ever gets that bad, I'll just off myself is all. I have been debating on quitting and using that money to finance a used bike, and pay for insurance on one.
