i get csm's who ask me that and i still cant answer it, i just got lucky i guess. i asked for ft. stewert ga but got ft. shaftner HI. and this is my first duty station lol. Island fever.... Lived their when I was a kid, parents would get island fever. You just can't get into your car and drive to another state.
ive never been but have family and friends who live there and they say its like those bad ass postcards you see plust it always smells like flowers

Spent about a week there and all I have to say is its expensive as hell to live there.
I went to Maui for a week and it was fun. The best part was taking a boat out and going snorkeling and cliff jumping was fun too.

i lived there for 3 1/2 years wish i never left. was stationed at pearl harbor. it is expensive but you can live on the cheap if you are wise. all the clubs have drink specials learn what when and you can get drunk there cheap. the only ball buster is gas no getting around that the good news is you wont drive that much so each tank should last a bit. if you dont play golf you should. every base has a world class golf course and its is really cheap to play around i played almost everyday there. the other thing was tennis played that every day at lunch.

my friend and her husband are there, he's stationed there for the time being. i heard it sucks to live there. rent is retardedly expensive, a lot of places don't even have AC (don't ask why) and traffic into honolulu is somehow always congested.
i get to go at the end of August. can't wait, gotta love a job with Travel.

Bro. my girl is from Hawaii. fresh off the boat infact. she said that there are certain places you want to stay away from, cause locals will follow you areound and when you get to a secluded enough area, they will beat your ass with a baseball bat lol
