I knew this was a scam so I e-mailed the seller to "find out more".

No it doesnt sound legit. Look at the sellers first email, throughout the email, all he says is "the Car" doesnt specify anything about it being a supra until the end of the email. Thats a scam. Who would pay more to ship it, when someone will come to you with cash and buy it.

The guy wanted the transaction to go through eBay, and also refused to meet up in person. The skidsteer was also priced about 10k less than it was worth.

There is some proof right there. Its a scam. Ebay might be able to help cover, but what happens if he takes the money and does not ship the car. He just gets some neg reps. Creates a different account with a different credit card. He could have one of those visa gift cards and use that as his ebay card. Then when they go looking for him, no money or name on the card.
