Do I need another plan to get an iPhone?

Do I need a different/extra plan to have an iPhone?

I'm trying to pick one up tonight of the craigslist. Can I just pop in my sim and good to go?

Or do I need to have ATT set it up or somethign?

iphones don't have SIM cards i don't think. maybe collins will get on. he has one.

If you currently have an AT&T account, then all you need to do is put your SIM card in it and it will work because the Iphone is branded under the AT&T network. If you have another GSM network like T-Mobile, then you will need to buy an "unlocked" Iphone that has been unlocked to work on any GSM network. If you have a digital network (Sprint, Nextel, Verizon), then you can't use the Iphone.

Yes, they do. It is a GSM phone meaning it has a SIM card. Phones made for digital networks do not have SIM cards.

pretty sure you are going to have to get their dataplan or you will probably be fubared if you hit the net button or what not. They should be able to switch the phonebook over, who cares where you got it from. but it will probably just be an upgrade on your plan (and price). I know on my family plan its 100-120 dollars piece to run a blackberry with the work and we have four! eek.

Hmm I have an ATT plan, and a ATT data plan so I was hoping it would work on that.

The phone itself will work on any plan you currently have. However, you will have to add 3G if you want to connect to the internet to get the most out of the phone.

Make sure ur plan has "data" and be prepared to pay the extra 30 or so per month just to have it on your line.

i think its like 30 bucks extra a month or something - i have tmobile so i dont know off the top of my head but i do know they charge me 35 extra a month JUST to have the damn phone & have everything work correctly. i'm sure its the same concept.

if you get one thats unlocked then yeah all you have to do is pop in a sim card at the top of the phone. personally id wait for the new iphone to come out this summer. or thats what there saying.

tmobile sucks ass, but it's good to know we can talk at anytime for free

i just got an iphone the other week and i had to add a $30 data package plan to my bill..
i dont know if you have to but if you dont have that then you will get charged out the ass cause everything on that phone you will use the internet and whatnot..lol

The Iphone has the SIM car slot at the top, you use a pin in the little hole to pop it out.

You do have to get the Iphone plan if you want to use any of the features on it, and also they charge $30 for that and $20 more for unlimited texts. My bill with just 450 minutes was still $100 a month, so I sold mine last week, Got bored with it and tired of paying so much.
