Default Anyone ever have Endoscopic Sinus Surgery?

Went to the ENT recently... they want to do surgery....

    deviated septum
    oversized/overgrown turbinates
a concha bullosa(huge air pocket some how formed in a turbinate)
and polyps in my sinus cavities....

plus sinus infection.. causing my uvula/adenoids/tonsils to have aids.. they wanna remove those three things... and fix the others listed above..

    7 procedures all at once...

where did you go? what was your dr's name? and was it worth it???

(you may not have all the problems i did.. i know that.. but the surgery is pretty common)

What symptoms did you have that led you to getting this checked out? I'm asking because I've had a lot of sinus related problems lately

well i've had sinus problems for years.. never looked into it because i didn't want to pay for all this crap...

but lately it's just been getting worse and worse.. then one night my uvula tripled in size so i decided i'd go to the ent...

they sent me for a ct scan... got the scans back.. and the dr laughed at all the problems.. saying... "LOL! man i knew it'd be a bit bad.. BUT NOT THIS BAD!!! now we know why that uvula was so large!!!"....

i've had blood in my sinuses for years too.... and one of the turbinates is the reason why...

Jeez! I'm sorry! I've had sinus issues since before I can even remember. I broke my nose in 06, and now I am nothing but a constant sinus/nasal nightmare. Never had this surgery, but I think I might look into it. It would be nice to breathe again.

Good luck, and I hope things get better for you!

I went to Dr. Browning at ENT of georgia in lawrenceville. I had Enlarged Turbinates, i couldn't breathe through my nose at night and that drove me fucking nuts, not to mention i had sinus headaches every day. After surgery
aside from blowing a huge scab out of each nostril and pulling out the surgical wadding there were no bad things to say, i could breathe through my nose and the headaches were gone.
    Its worth it.

i'm gonna take my scans to another ENT... but i'm gonna find one closer to where i'm at now...

i'm sure they are gonna tell me to do it too...

and from what most say... it's worth it..

thing is i've heard it's pretty invasive.. not so much the sinus part.. but the tonsils/uvula/adenoids.... they say the older you are the worse it is.. where i'm still pretty young.. i'm not a little kid.. ya know.. i'm 23... my co worker had nearly the same thing i need done.. and was out for 2 weeks...

thanks for your input though.. i appreciate it!!!

Is his office on Lawrenceville-Suwanee Rd.? If it is, then he treated me for a "chronic ear infection" about four years ago. This ear infection wasn't really an ear infection at all, but a cyst growing in my mastoid bone. His office was great to work with, and Dr. Browning is excellent.

Is that the one by the Suntrust? I think behind the suntrust or something?

If so, I went there because I used to have sleep apnea.. and some fucking Indian doctor was ready to do surgery and shit.. My sleep apnea has been fixed.. But I do have adeviated septum due to a motorcycle accident a few years ago.. But I went to another doctor for advice and he said surgery is not needed , especially all the ones that other doctor said...

    just curious..

opposite side of the street. There are only two doctors at the practice and both are top tier... Boyett and Browning.. Apnea surgery isn't really worth it... lose some pounds it goes away.

.... i have to meet the deductible then ins covers the rest..

my remaining deductible is 1250.... i have to pay that to the dr's office prior to the surgery...

not gonna be any less of a problem for me if i go to the er and pay money that goes towards my deductible.. it'll still be coming out of my pocket...

    do you understand now??
