Yes there is life on other planets and there is reason to believe that microscopic life exists on Mars.

I really don't think that a space ship will be able to go the speed of light. It would take years to accelerate to that speed without killing everyone inside (not to mention slowing down, either). Also, space dust is enough to kill you when you are going that fast.
