Default UTI/NTI : Nascar Technical Institute

I'm considering going to NTI. but i've heard a few negative things about UTI. people just not really getting the type of career they thought. so if you have been or know someone who has please share your stories and wether you actually benefited from it or not..

It's called reality. Very few ever start out with the job they thought they were going to get when they graduated. Do you think that when you graduate that Velvet Ropes will part and Champagne will fall from the heavens and your dream job will be waiting? Not gonna happen but if the school is something that you WANT to do and think you could make a living at then do it. Stop worrying about what other people are saying. Just remember that normally it is not WHAT you know, but WHO you know. So try and make as many connections as you can while in school.

but also take into consideration that UTI is super expensive and the opprotunitie's they promis are false promises. u can go to any technical college where u live and learn the same shit. i thought about going to UTI and i spoke to about 5-6 people that went there and they all said it was a waste of money, they could have stayed home and went to school somewhere else and only spent a 1/3 of the money from start to finish. just do some research on a couple schools instate and see what they have to offer.

i would personally rec. Gwinnett Tech. great school and great Automotive program w/ knowledgeable teachers. they have multiple program (i.e. toyota, GM, chrysler, and i heard they brought back diesel).

With automotive schools a lot of it will depend on your performance. It's not something you can barely get through, then expect a job. You're going to have to work your ass off, and you absolutely cannot rely on them to get YOU a job. It's entirely possible to get a job right out of that school, but times are tough. You're going to have to stand out/make connections as you go through it. Good luck.

I heard it was expensive, really expensive. Some guy graduated, and owed 45K in student loans, and could only find a job at a dealer that started at $10 an hour. And if he didn't get a job with VW in 1 yr, or some shit he was going to owe more for some reason because he was in one of their programs with the school. He applied at every VW dealership in SoCal, and not one of them was hiring.

He made a thread on Honda-Tech.com if you want to find it.
