    Default question about cars...

well i think this is in the wrong forum but i dont know where to put it so please move it if nessary, but im thinking about bringing a car over from tokyo and i already got the car picked and price set. but how hard is it to leagleize a car, or could i just have it smog leagle and convert the cluster to miles instead of km. would i be able to go up to the dmv and get a salvage title for it or would that not work? also are the vin numbers different from over there to the ones here?

that's what i'm starting to wonder about some of these illegals running around... how the hell did you get it through customs without legalizing it? you can get a temp. importation of non-legal vehicles, but when that runs out you deport the car or destroy it (well the govt does). or is everyone just saying it's an exhibition/off-road only vehicle?
