I guess it's different for me to be on all of the social network deals. I am in PR and Marketing. It's the new thing to do since all of the papers and mags are shutting down. Lots of corporate companies are impressed if you have a reputation for using social networking. I am actually going to start writing a book soon on how to turn your hobby into a career. Social Networking has been an amazing form of free advertising for our companies and has played a huge role in our success. I was just curious how many "real" people use it.

Actually, did you hear about the whole Ford thing where they were trying to shut down all of the forums with Ford in their name? Well, they twittered the progress of all of that. It's kind of like a short blog. Jalopnik and autoblog do it.

I'm on LinkedIn, too. Like I said, it's probably a thing that is cooler if you have an actual purpose to use it. For me, it's free advertising. No one can tell you that you don't sponsor the site, so you can't say that. As long as you don't get nekkid, no one will ban you. No one else will get banned for mentioning your name because you don't sponsor the site (happened to us on NASIOC), etc.
