Well, I have no particular beliefs about this day. The end of the Mayan calender and sopposedly related to several endings according to religion aswell. Others say it will be a new beginning or "enlightenment", and some just another day. Curious as to what others think.

Damn, this has been floating around the internet for such a long time. Do a Google search and you will find a whole bunch of facts on this. Some say the Mayan's couldn't look that far into the dates, but it doesn't necessarily mean we are going to fall off the map or the world is going to end. Research, come up with your own conclusions. I am going to guess this is going to be the next Y2K-like scare.

As far as 12/12/12 and ive also heard 12/21/12, I've researched a little bit about it and supposedly thats the date the earth and all other planets will be in line at once. I dont know the signifigance of it, but the way things are going now, we wont last much longer with all the bs

We need to restore the fundamental necessities and environmental awareness of the species through the avocation of the most current understandings of who and what we truly are, coupled with how science, nature and technology (rather than religion, politics and money) hold the keys to our personal growth, not only as individual human beings, but as a civilization, both structurally and spiritually. The consequence of this scarcity is that human beings must behave in self preserving ways, even if it means they have to cheat and steal in order to get what they want. Our research has concluded that Scarcity is one of the most fundamental causes of aberrant human behavior, while also leading to complex forms of neurosis in other ways. A statistical look at drug addition, crime and incarceration statistics, finds that poverty and unhealthy social conditions comprise the life experience of those who engage in such behavior.
Human beings are not good or bad... they are running, forever changing compositions of the life experience(s) that influence them. The "quality" of a human being ( if there was such a thing ) is directly related to the upbringing and thus belief systems they have been conditioned into.
This simple reality has been grossly overlooked and today people primitively think that competition, greed and corruption are "hardwired" elements of human behavior and, in turn, we must have prisons, police and hence a hierarchy of differential control in order for society to deal with these "tendencies". This is totally illogical and false.

when i was at the mayan temple it does stop at 2012 but that represented was a change for them... it doesn't say what the change is but this has happened many times before and when this happens the mayans would build a new temple on top of the old

I do know that the end of the Mayan calender represented what is basically an overhaul of society. Honestly I think we need that to happen, but idk how or when it ever would. I haven't done any real research on it because I'm pretty anti-religous and whatnot so I don't believe in this stuff. I'm going to have one wild ass night on 12/11/12 though just in case some shit goes down.
There is zero scientific evidence that anything will happen, but there are numerous things that could easily threaten the human species in the year 2012, such as a geomagnetic reversal, asteroid strike or supernova. Or soemthing more intimate, like a flu pandemic, or a nuclear war.

I for one doubt the earth will get hit by an asteroid anytime soon. If I remember correctly I think there has been an asteroid detected that will pass real close to us but this won't occur til 2028 I think. The only thing that could happen is some strange geomagnetic reversal. Others think planet X / Nibiru will make a re-appearance and cause strange phenomenons around Earth.

2012 is an election year.maybe the "over haul of society" is a new canidate that comes in, wins, and in december completely revamps and resets our society back on "track" what ever "track may mean.

+ reps if i can, i read those articles and watched that video, and
i am convinced that there is an underlying agenda for a new world order/one world government, people in power only seek more power. as a piece of the article stated-our freedoms are slowly and voluntarily being eroded away. any form of believed terrorism and the NSA/initial agencies can hold you with 0 rights for as long as they wish. talk of new microchips and and international currencies(euro, proposed amero) only lead to a single united government whose goal is to have complete power over everything. i believe any deviance from what the NWO wants will lead to accusations of terrorism, and then that person is dealt with. 24/7 surveillance via microchips and an ever increasing # of cameras. new gun laws make it considerably harder to obtain them.
what i believe to be the sad thing, is that the NWO will be ushered in not from any sort of revolution as the conventional and empirical way may have been(aka hitler's attempt, etc, others), but it will be wanted by the people and they will have no idea what is going on until it is done.
