WTH Humana
Well today my wife got a phone call from her doctors office stating her claim was denied. This is after she got an insurance card stating her coverage started on 9/1. She called the day of her appointment and humana said all good to go. Her doctor called to confirm co pay amount and no problem. Next thing we know is we are pregnant and Humana says our coverage was cancled on 8/31 when she called them after 8/31 and her card states her coverage starts on 9/1. How the heck do they cancel you , dont tell you and send you a coverage card and tell you all is well at the same time. I am very confused. I also think federal law states that pregnancy cannot be considered a pre-existing condition. At the time I got her signed up for my insurance she was not pregnant, not that I knew of anyhow and not to mention there is NO gap in when her works coverage stopped and mine picked up. Anyone know anything about health insurance?
