    Default Hey Guys N Gals - everybody please read!

    Hey! Most of you may not know, as I live in BFE, but there is a Red Cross temporary shelter with 100-200 people from New Orleans at Lost Mountain Park. My family has decided to collect items for them to "keep them busy" so they don't get bored just sitting there. It's a park and the weather is nice here, but there are also probably lots of childern. My parents are going out tomorrow and we plan on taking items on Monday. I will be able to collect items from anybody that wants to give on Monday.

    Items we're looking for:
    - playing cards
    - wiffle bats and balls and gloves
    - colouring books and crayons or markers
    - reading books - adults and kids
    - board games - new or old with pieces
    - crossword puzzle books
    - Any other ideas to keep adults and kids busy and possibly their minds on better things.......if not just a temporary distraction.

    Any other ideas? or if you only have a few bucks to give, Gimme a call at 770-337-4155, that's my cell, leave a message as I will be at work tomorrow...make sure to leave a number and a NAME and i'll call you back as soon as I can.

    I donated some money to the effort down there on friday when I cashed my pay check... ... and my number has been on my location thing for over 3 months and no problems so far...

    That is a wonderful thing that you and your family is doing. I would give you some of thoes things but I have no way to get them to you. I need a frekin car that I can drive.

    Thanks to the few that have posted....We found out that Lost Mtn has no space for anything.....apparently people got the idea before us. Now considering collecting school supplies... Most of the people that are here, i'm finding out are staying here. I'd like to start a collection for people that are here with pets that need veterinary care (since i'm a vet tech, we've seen it..people with their dogs, no vaccines history b/c their vet is under water and the hotel won't take them.....it's awful!!!) Anybody got any Ideas on a way to start this up???????
