OMG, I had to go downtown yesterday and I was off the Courtland Ave (249A) Exit... when I tried to find how to get back on the highway, I turned down this one road and I was in the ghetto... I was really scared... I had to roll my windows up and lock my doors! But at least I rolled through playing the Hump song, lol

Any projects/ghettos in metro Atlanta for that matter. The "ghetto" doesn't really exist anymore in most places in GA. Places that I personally KNOW are still ghetto:

*Englewood area near the Atlanta Zoo.
*Some parts of Decatur (not Dekalb, the city Deactur)
*Certain spots on Metropolitan Ave (formerly Stewart Ave)
*Dill Avenue
*University Avenue near downtown Atlanta
*Near the Boulevard. No lie, my little cousins middle school played against this middle school called Cowen. The area and school is SOOO poor. The kids didn't even have uniforms. They had on really run down shoes with holes. Their official cheerleaders didn't have uniforms either. They had on black t-shirts and blue jeans. LOL Now THATS GHETTO.

isnt a ghetto a low budget housing project... Haven't really seen any "ghetto"'s lately in GA. I haven't seen any people of the ghetto here, although places like bankhead are different, they arent ghetto cuz that requires real poverty.

Are you serious? Metro, Dill, University, were all on my route at Bud. I rolled on those blocks. You got to include Thomasville Heights and surrounding areas in that. I few months ago when an IA member had his car stolen and word got to him that it was in the exact areas you posted. I was down there from 11pm that night til past 2am just ridin through. Yes, I am very serious. I know of at least 10 people killed on Dill Avenue alone. I even posted a story not too long ago about my Ex and I that had to go deal with some dudes on Dill that held his niece hostage. I mean, its never like someone patroling the streets, walking around with guns, like Jonesboro South used to be (if you ever heard of that)

I don't think that anyone is just going to come up to you and just kill you or whatever. They are just very troubled areas. You can LOOK at someone wrong and get into a confrontation.

I know you said "I'mma saltine" but believe it or not, alot of blacks ARE scared when a white person comes around. Never mind the fact that you may be in a big ass Budweiser truck. They will still think, "he still the white man" They not gonna bother you unless they felt the need to rob you. Honestly, if I saw a white man in my neighborhood thats 99% black, riding around at 11pm-2am at night, I would think he is a spy, police, Feds, whatever. I wouldn't bother him either. LOL

Thats just those people. That don't make ALL if bankhead bad. See how I narrowed down mines to the exact area. Hell, Bankhead is a long road.

Take Cascade for instance. Its one of those long roads. My grandmother lives in a house off Cascade Ave. She has been there about 30yrs. Bought the house back then for 10K and the property value is now close to 300k. Most of my black ppl, know that part of Cascade (WestEnd Mall part) is/was a bad area but the fact is that aside from that part of Cascade, as you go on down the road, and pass over i-20, it cleans up. There are some million dollar houses on Cascade.

yes.. bankhead hwy is long.. but when people say bankhead they are refeering to the area directly west of atlanta.. shit campbellton road stretches out into the redneckville, its only the East point area thats actually bad (area sorrounding Sylvan rd)

When I was 4, back in '85, we lived in Jonesboro South, not far from the jail....my brothers dad got killed one night shooting at someone....then we moved to East Lake Meadows 2 weeks later......way before it got renovated......that was place was soo hood......our grandmother would not let us leave the yard for anything! Plus we had to be in the house by 6
