Quantum electrodynamics and the human visual system is the reason why you see blue. The reason why they haven't upgraded the system is due to it not being necessary since any normal person wouldn't just waste time sitting on his butt looking at a blue screen til he thought, "why haven't people changed it."

Only to come to the realization that it's of little importance.
