Texting While Driving - I(we) need to stop ASAP
Been doing it for a few years now and haven't had any issues or "close calls" but it's definitely something I will work on NOT doing anymore.
what about you guys?
I know someone that's pretty bad about doing it under demanding conditions too (5 speed, night, rain and boost with bad tires) all while texting lol - I won't call any names though.

I agree. Too many people that don't need to be driving in the first place is now texting as well.

Yeah, I have become pretty bad about doing that. It's dangerous. I use a full keyboard phone so it is next to impossible to one hand type with it so I just use my knees to steer and both hands to text. No close calls yet, but I really need to stop before something happens. Only problem....it's too damn hard not to reply to a text. It's a disease I tell you.
Phones need a speech-to-text feature that works through a bluetooth ear piece. I'd be all over that.

It's the convenience factor, that's why it's so tempting. I just know that if I wrecked because of it, I would be highly pissed at myself.

i use to... till i got my new phone.. samsung i760 the front face slides sideways to then open the qwerty keyboard... so it's an elongated qwerty... too hard to text considering i need 2 hands to do it.... i might throw one out at a red light or sitting in traffic.. but i use to text all the time cause i could without looking and with using one hand.... but i really can't now that i'm driving a stick...

Regardless though, we all need to reduce our TWD (Texting While Driving) numbers or just limit usage to red lights only.

kelly is the worst.... she drives a stick too.. and will drive with her knees so she can carry on a text conversation... while searching for a song to listen to on her i-river....

I keep it under control and whip it out really quick at lights and when I'm stopped... But I try to leave it in my center console with the lid closed.
