    Default Finally!!!

I fixed all the junk that was wrong with the civic... (well.. mostly...)

last weekend i took my head off to replace my headgasket, while i was in there i replaced the water pump, timing belt, thermostat, did a tune up (plugs and wires)... had some set backs.. and wasn't able to finish it up...

but as of this saturday morning got it running!!!

i'm pretty proud of myself.. i had some help along the way, but for the most part did the work myself.. and am def not a mechanic... it's running just fine now though and it just feels good to accomplish a task like that...

i saved myself quite a bit of money i feel like.. even though it took up quite a bit of my time..

next project is the clutch... but i don't think i'm gonna tackle that without someone who knows what they are doing.. and i've gotta get some brakes on her... from there it's gonna be all cosmetic work.....

ah, self accomplishment... it's just a great high!!!

btw, thanks to everyone on here who gave me advice/tips along the way.. it's really appreciated guys!!!

you did save yourself a lot of money that probably would have easily been over a grand to get done at a mechanic.

And knowing how much it costs to get the timing belt service through a honda dealer you did save a ton of cash, oh and the clutch will only go in one way so there's that one

yeah man, i spent close to 500 (prolly more) total on everything i'd say...

    the gasket set was 110

the tb kit (with tensioner) was 90

    the water pump was 30

i bought new tools like a whole socket/wrench set for 75

i bought an impact gun for 80 (that didn't do anything and can't take back because i scratched it up on the concrete on accident )

then i spent another 56 bucks on the wires/plugs/thermostat/powersteering fluid...

and of course i had to buy radiatior fluid too..... besides all the time i had in it (not that my time is worth much!! lol) and gas money running back and forth to the store...

it took me a whole weekend, one wednesday, then all of friday night and an hour sat and an hour sunday.... lol

but still i feel like i saved quite a bit of money... and gained a lot of knowledge out of it!!!

truthfull i think doing the timing belt and headgasket was more difficult than doing the clutch. just get a write up off of honda-tech, team integra or get the manual from the parts store and u can get the clutch

idk if it would break em or not..... it would all depend on how much they were torqued down ya know?

if you're looking for an easy way to break lugs... buy a "gorilla wrench" i think thats what it's called... greatest investment i've made tool wise... it doesn't ratchet but it extends and has a 1/2 drive.. gives great leverage...

if you wan the gun shoot me a pm.. i'll make you a pretty good deal...
