    Default So i was dismissed from jury duty today...Anyone know about this case?

    I was dismissed today from a double murder case. The victims were Connie Mincher and her son, Ethan, who was a freshman at Pope when the murders occurred. They happened in 2003 and the case is just now going to trial...they started opening arguments today after the final jury was picked (which fortunately didn't include me.)

    What i know about this case is that the mother and son were beaten to death and the guy that's on trial was found with a metal pipe and loaded gun in his car, which was seen at the murder scene. The bodies were discovered by the 12-year-old sister/daughter. The accused apparently worked with the father/husband and placed a voodoo curse on the family. He sent them lots of threatening notes/calls because dad apparently "blackballed" him from getting another job. Dad wasn't touched, mom and son were murdered to hurt him i guess.

    Anyone know anything about this case? If you were friends of the vics my thoughts are with you, it was a gruesome murder.

    You were dating a chick that was friends with a 14yo? Is this gonna become a pedobear thread?

    No, seriously, this whole mess is so sad. I can't imagine the poor daughter finding the bodies and then losing her dad too a few years later.

    it sounded like the defense attorneys were already prepared for a guilty verdict. Seemed like they were really mounting a case for life in prison instead of the death penalty, without any real "he didn't do it" defense.

    i went to middle school / high school with him. i remember riding the bus home with him every day... he lived a few neighborhoods up from mine.

    i cant believe it took this long to get a damn trial going?

    well with the evidence he is pretty much fuked.

    witnesses saw the car at the house, there was a map with the house circled in the glove box. a loaded gun and a pipe were found in the car. plus the fact that he had been threatening them for 10 years lol

    apparently there were a buncha pre-trial motions going on, the guy is trying to delay the inevitable. The more i hear about this the more i hope that if this guy did it, he fries for it. (actually it'd be lethal injection but w/e)
