its personal opinion so if you dont like it to each their own.
It can be trashy depending on where it is IMO. If a girl gets on right next to her vagine (Borat voice) and she likes tobrag about it an show it off, then yeah shes trashy. If she gets on on her lower back and loves to brag about it, then yeah, shes a whore.
But i dont mind a girl that gets one and is mature about it.
My girlfriend has one on the back of her neck, its pretty big but her hair mostly covers it up. but it isnt trashy IMO, cause she doesnt brag about it, it meant something to her and its personal.
Thats what i think the problem is. Tattoos used to be for personal reasons or they used to MEAN SOMETHING. Now, its just a "society" thing , get one to be cool.

I have 16 tattoos, and you wouldnt think that when looking at me, because they can all be hidden. None have any really significant meaning to me, I just happen to like tattoos.

True. I've got friends, both male and female, who have tattoos. Hell, my father has four. I still don't like them and can't find any female with them to be attractive. I'm the same way about piercings. One in each ear and I'm okay. Anything beyond that I dislike. Gauging is a no-no as well.
Maybe I'm just traditional in this sense. I have told my girlfriend that I'd leave her if she got a tattoo though. I even went ape-sh*t when she got a temporary henna (sp?) tattoo.

I heard a girl I know got a tattoo and I was like WTF for a minute until I saw it. One of her best friends (my friend also) little sister was killed in an ATV accident 3 months ago. Its in memory of her, so its something that has a meaning and was thought out.
I don't have a problem with tattoos if they are meaningful and don't look like ****. I'm not going to lie though, untatted girl > tatted girl. But like willum said, I find it extremely retarded when people get one just because they can.
First hand example, I used to date this girl in high school and the beginning of college. She had mentioned getting a tattoo from time to time, something incorporating a cross. I was always against this. Well we broke up but still stay in touch somewhat. Probably about a year later she started dating this "scene" kid (I guess is what they call it?). Well she ends up getting a tattoo on her hip of a skull and crossbones with a pink bow. A few months later they break up and she returns to her normal fashionable, preppy ways, and I just have to laugh every time I think about that permanent mistake.
Long story short, if you're going to permanently alter your body, think about it for a long long time.
I feel the EXACT same way, it's becoming a huge issue.
