Everybody is going to be picking and choosing his words like they were CSI. ANYTHING he says that has to do with race will, by some people (racists themselves usually), automatically be considered a racist remark. He'll not be able to ever say the word "black" again and not be thought of as being racist. Later, QD.
I agree with you for the most part QD, but you really don't think that was a little uncalled for?

I think, if Imus wants to continue to have a career in the public eye, he needs to pick and choose his words a LOT more wisely. For the reason I mentioned above. In his "history" right now, yes, it was uncalled for. If he had a clean slate and meant the comment to be the way he says it was intended, then it would NOT be so much unnecessary. See what I'm saying? Later, QD.Originally Posted by Kelly

-Super cool .gif TO UNBAN JITB, JM, Buttons AND NEMISIS here-
he was talking about pacman jones...he asked what color he was, the guy answered and said he was african american, then imus replied 'there you go'...something along those lines...basically..he should have left race/color/gender/nationality out of it, seeing his history

like QD, kelly and i have mentioned, due to imus' history, it is a touchy subject, something that imus should have left alone, but like a dummy, he went back to it and decided to get himself in trouble again..Originally Posted by Sport1.3
everyone know that race is still an issue, its how u handle and manuevuer(sp?) around it, imus is not doing that..he's being retarded with how he talks about skin color![]()
yea i'm not going to sit here and say that its all his fault, but it is his fault for not being selective in his words, if he's as smart as he's suppose to be, he can improvise, am i wrong?Originally Posted by quickdodge®
even at that, he could have elaborated. true i have not heard the whole thing when that was broadcast, but seeing how the news report read, he didnt elaborate at all after he said 'there you go'

Is it a stereotype if its true?
I mean this is a multiple felon, multiple problems with the law, hes a thug, and hes in the NFL.
I took it a another millionaire black guy getting in trouble with the law, not all black people are criminals.
Man people jump to conclusions

Yes Imus statement was racist. Then again Pacman Jones doesn't help it out either with his actions. Look at the dumb **** we do thats why we keep having these situations and comments made about us.
Shaq situation is a perfect example.

i see what he was trying to say....but he failed trying to say it. being a radio personality for so long, he should know now how to word himself better.
BUT, i can say this, Pacman jones is a dummy anyway...and deserves to be humiliated.... pacmans response was kind of funny thoOriginally Posted by PBS

so wait, let me get this straight.
he said :
Imus asked, "What color is he?" Sports announcer Warner Wolf said Jones — formerly known as Pacman — is "African-American." Imus responded: "There you go. Now we know."
then said:
"What people should be outraged about is that they arrest blacks for no reason," Imus said Tuesday. "I mean, there's no reason to arrest this kid six times. Maybe he did something once, but everyone does something once."
someone please explain to me how this is worth talking about? from the story in the link i dont feel that him saying "there you go" is saying what people are implying.
Val for President
nope sorry but pac man is a fuking idiot and there should be no excuse for his actions to get him trouble in the first place. I don't see anything wrong with Imus comments this time aroundOriginally Posted by Hulud
