Default Kind of Funny (More Gas Prices Talk)

SO i was driving down Austell Road going to Mainstream the other day.

On the corner of County Services and Austell there is a CHevron. Across the street is a Texaco that has been closed down for about 5 or 6 years.

    CHEVRON GAS PRICES
    87- $3.85
    89- $3.95
    93- $4.05

TEXACO GAS PRICES (their signs were still up)
    87- $1.29
    89- $1.39
    93- $1.49

I wish i had a camera it would have made for a good shot.

I remember when I moved to Tucson in October '99, I filled up @ QT for 79 cents a gallon. Got to Tucson and gas was $1.34 and I almost had a heart attack. Now gas is cheaper there than here...

When I got my Neon back in 2005, it took less than $25 to fill the tank. Now it takes almost $50.

I was in the Air Force back then, and I filled up my CB7 for 76 cents/gallon (on base at the AAFES gas station).

It's one thing when 80 year olds say they remember when the fattest burger you could buy, some fries and a coke was $1.25... that's expected b/c 60 years or so has passed since then. But I am only 29 years old - there is NO WAY IN H3LL I should have lived to see gas go from $.76 a gallon to what it is now. I don't even wanna know how much it will be when I am 80.

I see those 2 signs all the time when I pass through powder springs. I wonder how many people actually notice the old texaco sign......
