That's kind of what I'm gathering from what I've seen so far. I've nothing against Mike personally. He's generally a pretty cool dude and I've met him in person. I just think he's carrying this in a direction it doesn't need to go.

I'd suggest either leaving the subject alone and keeping all the BS in the WL where it's supposed to be "anything goes", or just doing away with all offensive content as a whole. Considering how drastically member participation would drop if they chose the latter, I would just leave well enough alone and keep it in the WL as it's meant to be.

...seems more than a bit overboard. It's not overly offensive and it's not NWS but it does have Pedo Bear in it. Judge images by content that is actually depicting something, not something that just a crack at an offensive subject.

No worries Ran. They're going to do away with all of them, its just too much to get rid of all at once. Changes will come, but drastic they will not be. (Yoda) Atleast not until someone takes a step back and says "Hey...it started with pedobear, which eventuallly led to rape. That led to racism because of the bum pic. "You gonna get raped", with the black bum guy. Then AIDS, etc.

If there was somethat that should be banned to help clean up the sight, it should be people that dodge the filters. :ninja:

bc i guess part of the issue is that the pedobear thing was in ppls sigs, something you can't get away from if you wander away from the WL.

Pedo Bear himself isn't NWS content. It's suggestive, yes, but it's not NWS. Like with the original topic, sigs should be judged on their actual depicted content.

Also, regulating what appears on globally-viewed avatars/signatures and what appears in a concentrated forum are two seperate topics.

It's all good. My point is getting a little misconstrued. I'm cool with jokes about anything. In moderation, though. What is part of the problem is that there is a certain "click" of people on here that day in and day out post about nothing but "you are a child molester" or post up a pic of a little girl crying and adding a captian directed to an IA member saying "Why did you make her cry?" You know..bullshiit like that. Driving a joke into the ground is what's sad. Later, QD.

i agree, but why get technical? you know i meant that the pedobear, along with the attached captions about she's only 3 or whatever, is what made it more offensive.

like i said, i personally don't care, i was only worried about seeing half naked chicks or a big F U in someones sig/av.

I agree with this post in just about every aspect. Still, that comes down to the members themselves, not specific content. You can get people to tone it down and keep things on a decent level without blantantly outlawing a subject altogether. I've absolutely no problems with that approach.

I completely understand that you want the site to clean up. I agree that somethings get out of hand, but I don't see a need to ban things that are already put in a specific section. I don't want to porn all over IA, so they keep it focused in the RLD. Great! Now I can browse the site without see @ss everywhere. I use the same approach with the WL. If I don't want to deal with the general bullsh*t one day, I'll ignore the WL and go chill in Car Talk or somewhere that I can have an intelligent discussion on a topic. As long as the Pedo Bear and other content stays inside the WL where "anything goes" then I'm good.

lol, I think you're misinterpretting what I'm saying or I'm wording it wrong.

When I say "in a direction it doesn't need to go", I mean the approach and actions taken in general. I'm not going to "come at you" in any sense over this. Maybe I'll try a better wording next time.
