For those of you like me who have a Social ending in 00 we get our checks a week early!! They start to send them out Monday via email/Direct Deposit and they will start going up from there.

The order in which tax filers will receive their rebates will be based on the last two digits of their Social Security numbers.

Peggy Riley, a spokeswoman with the Internal Revenue Service in Boston, said the first payments will be issued on May 2 electronically and deposited in taxpayers' bank accounts whose last two digits of their Social Security numbers end with 00 to 20.

Taxpayers whose last two digits of their Social Security numbers end with 21 to 75 will receive their payments on May 9 and taxpayers whose last two digits of their Social Security numbers end with 76 to 99 will receive their payments on May 16.

May 2nd was the original date but now they bumped it up a week and the people with later numbers showing in may are for direct deposit unless they changed the whole schedule in the last month because I had a thread posted showing the full schedule of checks and they end in September with the last numbers of 99

Apparently if you do enter your info your computer gets infected with some type of virus or something. i'm confused on this whole thing.. i've paid taxes for the last few years... which year are they basing this rebate on? i also never received a letter... on top of that.. i've moved since last year.. and this year i did direct deposit.. but last year i received a check....

so are they going to dd my rebate? or send a check to my old address??? (luckily my old room mate still lives at that address so it's not a huge problem..)

no, it's not an advance.... they just take taxes out of this for next year... so 2008 taxes this 600 dollar rebate won't be exempt from being taxed...

i'm near positive... i've talked to numerous adults about it....

they did this back in the 70's (brett should remember) but you have to include it on next years taxes... it's not an advance... that would just hurt the economy next year because people wouldn't have any tax refunds to spend...

I think it should go by when you filed your taxes considering i did mine in january
