    Default What kind of snake is this?????

    I found this snake on my porch tonight it is a baby 8-10 inches long and agressive. Is it poisonous?

    It looks to be a baby rattle snake...which is why it doesn't have the little rattlers yet. They are more poisonous than the older ones...and understand that if a snakes aggressive its either a boa or a venomous snake...otherwise they'll rarely bother

    You can usually tell by the shape of the head if they are poisonous. Not in some cases, but venomous snakes usually have a more diamond shaped head. Well, in the viper family i guess.

    But yes, thats a water snake. Part of the king snake family i think.
