I'm not just getting a nursing degree, I'm getting a BSN (Bachelor in Science of Nursing), and I plan on going back in about 2 years to CRNA school. A CRNA (Nurse Anesthetist) makes around $160-180k/year

Well if you are planning on going to an accredited BSN program at a state university, make sure you have about a 3.4gpa and a 1300 or so on the old SAT.

yea the pay is pretty good. Also, If I work nights I get an extra $3.50/hr, and if I work weekends I get an extra $3.50/hr. If I work on a weekend night I get an extra $7/hr. If I work more than 40hours a week I get time and a half. Imagine working 48 hours a week, and the last 8 hours being weekend nights. That would be $31x1.5=$46.50/hr.

You also have to think about the joy of doing it not just the money man. If your not happy in what you do then there is no point in doing it.

I like what I do. Once you have finished the first year of the BSN program (after you've already had 2 or more years of core classes) you can work as a nurse extern. as a nurse extern I make $13/hr. I've been doing that for about a year, so I already know what my job is going to be like after I get my license. It's pretty fun. After CRNA school I will be putting people to sleep, starting epidural's, spinal blocks, etc.

Until recently I worked in the emergency room at my hospital. Nothing beats coming in to see a person with 5 gunshot wounds and 3 stab wounds or something like that. There's really usually not a lot of blood unless someone is missing a limb...

surprisingly not usually. They are usually in shock and are just quiet. Most are construction workers or something similar. They are pretty hardcore
