bikes, canoe, ski equipment, luggage, etc... some don't have a truck, or only want to take some things with them they work great. Some people just like the look of them.. A lot better MPG to carry something that is slightly too large to fit in a car without having to use a truck too...

lol... There are a few cars that look good with them too... But a lot of people that use them are using them for funtionality, not looks... and you are getting spoiler on your se-r.
