so there was one on here a while ago, and I think the damn thread hit 100 pages or something.

here is the background question...
Assuming that there was a long enough, large enough treadmill that would spin at exactly the same speed as the wheels of a plane, would the plane be able to take off, or would it sit in one place?
It turned into a huge argument of the plane going nowhere vs. the plane taking off, but here's a couple of videos to explain and show you.
The first video will be a demonstration, the second will be the explanation of the physics behind it.
I'm only bringing this up because apparently they're testing this with a real plane on the next Mythbusters.
