I just drove the 08 STI

a blue one and a white one going to the AJC Auto Show

i drove it for its pdi inspection.

My Top Gear review....

Interior is NOT rubbish... very nice actually 25x better than my '06 STI
the entire feel... yes its comfortable but its still so fast and takes corners like nothing. On 78 there was a bag in the lane and at the last second i avoided it and the car felt like i was going straight.

This is gonna be an awesome car.

From the video you posted not only does the new STI handle better, it's noticeably quicker than the previous year! I can't wait to see what a modded and tune one can do! Oh, and the new EVO X looks gay and is slower than the previous year LOL!

They look like twins to me. I prefer the MS3 styling to the STi myself. I don't like the goofy headlights, ricey taillights, or off-design fender flares of the STi.

the new sti is so ulgy to me, last years bodystyle was pretty good looking, and the generation before looked even better.. IMO they are going the right way in performance but wrong way with looks

I think its part of subaru's push to bring the sti in a competition with cars like the m3 and vette.

I would think it would be serious competition for those cars if they brought it down to a price that people that couldnt afford a new vette or M3, could afford.

not trying to brag but just and example.

lets say the common public man has 40grand and he can either get a vette with 10yr/100,000 mile warrenty or a sti (with their warrenty) which is the general public going to pick?

maybe if they change the looks like i stated before it would be great competition with the e92 m3/vette class (i do not consider the e46 in the same class as a corvette in stock form)

ok on paper the general has that warranty but Subaru has better ranking on consumer reports and edmunds and crash tests.... we really sell lots of cars tanks to them. whens the last time you saw a vette with 230,000 miles. we get atleast 3 a week getting oil changes at those miles.
