    Default Anyone Ski/Snowboard?

Any places you guys would recommend within driving distance? I went to Maine last year and loved it.. I'm thinking somewhere around West Virginia or North Carolina. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

Catalochee(sp) is eh. Mostly ice, no long runs, and terrible noobs but it's the shortest drive.

Depends on how good you are... I say the east cost is a waste... Might was well get a ticket and go out west!!!

I have been to N.C. a few times though... The drive sucks because of the ice/snow and mountains... Sometimes roads are closed and you have to take like hour detours

That is what I'm figuring, I didnt want to take the hike out to Colorado but that may be what I have to do.

Mt. Tremblant Canada is one of the best places on the Eastern side, if you're not wanting to hit up some serious flight tickets, then go to Snowshoe WV. That place isn't too bad for the intermediate snowboarder with low fundage.

I'm from Denver, totally worth the ticket to Colorado or Utah, the best snow I've ever ridden is in that part of the Rockies. Everything I've been on out here and in Cali has paled by comparison.

If you just need to get skiing/snowboarding out of your system you can go to Ober Gatlinburg in Tennessee or Ski Beach in North Carolina. Last time I went skiing though I went to Beckley West Virginia, there are some good runs up there.

I will have to say go out west if you really want to enjoy yourself skiing or snowboarding. I only snowboard in Colorado, and I am going out there in March to snowboard. I love the slopes there and also the extra activities that can be found in Denver

Go out there for spring skiing... It is amazing because the upper slopes are perfect and all the n00bs are gone because the little ***** slopes have melted due to being further down... I was skiing/snowboarding in waterproof pants and my goggles... thats it:boobies:

i just flew home from my parents house in West Virginia and it is the same temperature there as it is here in Atlanta. So scratch WV. Although my sister is visiting friends in our old town in central NY state and she went skiing yesterday but said it was mostly slush. I dont think you will find anywhere on the east coast that has good skiing/snowboarding this winter.

park city ftw... they just opened a new resort called the canyons and that place has got the best runs i have ridden .. but for the best rail and jib park i love winter park in colorado. Park city didnt get a good base this year but they are suppose to have a real late season.

i've snowboarded once, broke both of my feet, 3 of my ribs and as in a hospital for 3 months.

    I fell of a cliff.

ouch! the first time i went snowboarding i ruptured my spleen and was in the hospital for a week and a half. Luckally my stepfather was the VP of the hospital i was in so I had a private room and the hottest nurses.

Today I can snowboard fairly well

I've only boarded Colorado, SW Maine, and B.C Canada....

Canada was by far the best, with Colorado 2nd. Planning on moving back to the CO someday. They've got some badass bike paths all around Denver/Aurora.
