She had open hear surgery yesterday and air protruded into her chest forcing its way into her brain. She now has major brain damage and is in ICU on life support.
Apologizing would be saying hope is lost so I will just say.. I'm not the prayerful type but I will surely say one for her.
Thanks. She will be taken off life support tomorrow if things do not turn around...
family member? If so all I can say is this...just think of good times. Once an air bubble gets into your vein....all I can say a miracle needs to happen.

Yeah, we used to work together. You're right. She is not "quiet," in the sense that she will talk and talk and talk, but she speaks in very quiet tones.
She is a lovely young girl, and I am so very sorry for the pain her family must be going through.

thanks but i just got word that she is slowly being taken off all her medications. they are going to up the morphine to insure no pain and then the breathing tubes will be take out.
She signed a will stating that if anything were to happen to her and that there was no way for her to come back exactly like she went under, mentally or physically, that she didnt want to be on life support for long and did not want to be resuscitated. She wanted this in order to donate her organs in the best possible state.
If anything is going to happen it needs to start because time is quickly running out. I just wish when we walk back to see her that she will just open her eyes...

there is no legal action. the doctor that worked on her has been her doctor since she was 2. When he came out of the operating room he could not even talk to the family because he was in tears. she is like a daughter to him

damn, sorry to hear this, i hate when things like this happen, but unfortunatly they happen all the time.
Hopefully she comes out in the best state of mind and body as possible.
