    Default This sucks

Damn I just found all of this out. Ok I do HVAC (heat ventilation air conditioning) and my landlord has some family members that arn't so wealthy. Every so often she asks me to go over there and fix there AC or fix there heat. I go over and the house is messy, nasty, disgusting..... You get the point, well today when I went over there I saw this boy like the age 14 or 15 outside crying and I didn't know why he was crying at all. I go inside the home to replace the thermostat and when I was leaving the boy was on the couch crying still. Well when I was talking to my land lord I had told her about the boy that was crying. She said its her great grandson or something along those lines and she said that he is dying. I was kind of shocked and I asked why he was dying. Well he was born with a birth defect and has only one working kidney and the other he has is failing. Something about he has a rare liver type or something like that and every day he is getting sicker and he is getting closer to dying. I know they don't have the money to get a kidney and all and he is probably on the waiting list and all for one but hes probably close to the bottom. My landlord told me that he doesn't have a bed and that he sleeps on the floor in a sleeping bag and all and the floor is NASTY! My landlord asked me to bring this air mattress for him to sleep on. I feel horrible that I am not able to do anything for him. I want to go and start a fund at a bank for him raise money for him and all AND make the account so that NO ONE in his family can touch it (i.e. his step dad and mom) his real dad is in prison. I think I am going to go and take him out for dinner, bring him to a movie, and buy him a jacket and all. All the clothes he has are too small hand me downs. I want to try to reach out to others and let other people know about him and all. Even if I can only raise only like 100$ I would be happy and so will he I am sure. I would make sure that the money goes to him and he can go to the mall and pick things he likes with his grandparents (my land lords). I feel bad real bad for him...

EDIT: The kids name Jonathan. I am going to try to find out what his last name is and I am going to go by the bank and try to start a little fund and try to collect money or something. Please don't bash on me or anything like that I am being really serious. I know I am being real vague on everything in this thread but I am going to do my best on gaining more information.

That sucks, my dad had a kidney transplant couple years ago and now it has failed. He's on dialysis, maybe you should look into some programs to get the kid on that. Couple hours out of the week for that and the kid could live a "normal" life. There has to be something for people that can't afford it...

Some members on here will bash on you for trying to do nice things or start cracking jokes and sh*t. I'm not saying that anyone would do it. I just post it in my serious threads and all.

Figure out a way to set up the account and I may see what I can get some companies to donate. Or make a website or something. My dads company donates money every year to causes like this. I will put my money into it too.
Also because I have kidney problems myself and it sucks.

I am going to bank(s) tomorrow to see how to get one started and I will get info on here ASAP. I am also going to call the matchingdonors.com website tomorrow and try to get the fee waived so the kid can get a posting on the site. It says in the article I was reading that people get 4 to 5 offers of there kidneys for there patients. I will be taking pics of the home tomorrow and the kid too so everyone can see him and see what he has to live with on a daily basis.

Yeah after thinking about it for a bit I don't think its a good idea of posting what his house and all looks like. I'll get pics of the kid so everyone can see him.

I'll be glad to donate something. It sucks being in a situation you can't help, either it be health or your home life. Good luck man!

You know...there really need to be more people like you. Probably 90% of the population would have thought "poor kid", gone on their merry way and spend $500 on Christmas gifts without giving him a second thought. Like the others if you set the account up or need any help or anything, let me know. I'd be willing to do/donate whatever i can.

Hey, if you get a fund set up and I can donate through Paypal I'd be happy to put forth some money. Anyone can say "that's a shame," but it takes a real person to stand up and do something about it. The world could stand a few more people like yourself.

Ok I went to the bank to find out the info on what to do to get one of those Contribution accounts. I have to call this 1800 number to get a special Tax ID number so that the IRS can't go into the account and tax the money thats in it. Also have to go to the court house with a paper from the doctor explaining his condition and all that good stuff. Then the court house give me a paper saying they approve it and then i bring it back to the bank and then they set up the account. But the account isn't set up immediately it takes a little bit because they have to fax it to another bank and get it confirmed and all.

The house is a double wide trailer thats all messed up. They aren't to old to fix it theres about 6 adults living in the house that are able body to do work on it. They just refuse to do anything about the condition of it.
