    Default My Car got Impounded

So i was on buford drive taking a left into mcdonalds... and a cop stops right next to me, light turns green he still not moving .. well he start going forward and i thought huh **** ( cuz i thought he would pull me over for illegal tint or something) ***** went straight and came back to get me .. as soon as i took a left he turned his lights on.. i am like fock.. he came upto me and said why dont u have a current tag.. i am like **** i forgot abt that.. said bunch of **** ..but he was like give me ur id or w.e (he didnt listen to me) he went back to the car ... came back after 20 mins sayin u have a expired tag and cancelled registration.. i am like wtf.. so he said call someone cuz u cannt drive this car like that.. i tried to talk to him but ***** said partner dont argue with me.. u were driving illegally with expired and cancelled reg.. i am like ok ok.. so he said u lucky i am not taking u to jail cuz i gota be somewhere right now and i am late.. so he towed my car..said u can pick it up after showing proof of ownership..
my question is wht kind of problems am i going to face when i go to tag office??

Just get them both fixed before your court date, and It will get dropped.

I don't know where it got impounded, but before you go to the impound yard and try to get it, you'll probably have to go to city hall and show proof of ownership so they will release it. Then, you go to the impound yard and pay the cash to get it out. Just remember, the cost goes up daily. Usually $10 a day. I've done this a few times in the City of Atlanta. I'm assuming all that applies everywhere.

Police officers don't know as much as they like to think they do. And yes, I'm sure. I've been through it several of times. But like I also said, it may not be the case wherever your car was impounded. I don't know if it is a state wide thing, or just a city thing. You'll find out soon enough though.

Contrary to what itit2lose says, the officer does know what he's talking about. Your car will NOT be released until all court matters are satisfied. If you'd rather believe him over someone that has proven time and again that he knows what he talks about, then be my guest. But I'll be sitting right here when you hit ENTER with your post about having to fix it before you can get it.

Or you can always get the info straight from the horse and call and ask. Later, QD.

yeah they ****in suck ass. my truck was stolen and they found it a few days later and stuck it in the impound yard. they DIDNT tell me they had it till like 10 days after they found it and i wasnt able to pick it up till 3 days later.

they charged me 100 bux or so initially, 10 bux a day, and 125 to send me a letter telling me they had it(on the 8th day)

they owe me my $330 back because it wasnt my fault it was there...... ****ing assholes

pick it up ASAP, or charges will pile up

Take it to your house, Find the title
register it, get a tag (under ~100 bux total for your car)

Bring tag receipt to court.... Plead nolo with mitigating evidence or whatever... Tell the judge that you honestly forgot and how you're a poor student and you were on your way to class and it was an honest mistake.... Gwinnett county is really easy on that... I had a tag that expired like 3 months... I got it renewed... took it to court, they dropped the fee to 35$

Here's the deal. He can't just "pick it up." The car WILL NOT be released UNTIL he has the offense taken care of. The car's registration AND tag will have to be in order for them to release the car. So until he does that, it will sit in the lot. Racking up charges day by day. Later, QD.

I would atleast go get it registered and also insured if not already prior to picking up the car. It would suck ass if you got stopped on the way home from the tow yard.

So what about all of your court matters? Were they taken care of, like Queer**** said they needed to be to get the car out?

Like I said, it isn't too bad if you know how to go about it. I've been there and done that a few times.

Funny how stupid you look when you post **** you don't know anything about. But you're used to that by now, huh? He did exactly what I posted he needed to do before he could get his car. Try this, next time you don't know anything about the subject, either don't post or at least GOOGLE the info. Even I, in my infinite wisdom, use GOOGLE on occasion. It's nothing to be ashamed of. Now being proud of being the highest in your bloodline to make it past 4th grade is something to be ashamed of.

Also, when trying to mock someone's name, see if the word originality can come into play. BUt at least you did give it the ole college try...........or should I say, the ole elementary school try. Later, QD.

Gotta love GA. They make is so HARD to get a car out of impound. I got thrown in jail one time for suspended license I didnt know about. (I really didnt QD and whomever feels the urge to comment on my comment) They impounded me and my car (basically) spent $865 to get outta jail, $145 on the car, $85 on the new license, plus gas to and from Ohio. UGH. Its a pain. So... pretty much handle ur offenses as soon as possible, cuz GOD GA can make it hard.
