a good thing with this project is very minimal prep work is needed.

The rustoleum is oil based enamel. All you have to do is make the color you want, add mineral spirts until it is a milky like texture, put it on a High Density foam roller. Should come in packs of 4 at Lowe's little white ones with round tip. Tip, roll lightly, and do even coats. It will be a little textured at first, but it will even itself out. I suggest at least 3 coats to get the desired protection. With progrressively higher sand paper as you go within the coats. It dries fast and is very easy to use. If you have a run, all you do is go over it lightly with the roller. It wont leave roller streaks or anything. Top it off with a nice clear coat and it will shine. A lot of people put it down until they see it in person. Honestly, the color might be bland, or out there, but my paint job is very solid and you cant beat the 90% less cost it takes.

    High Density Foam Rollers
    paint trays
    sandpaper
    time.

thats all you need to have a mediocre to excellent paintjob, depending on how much work you put into it. Good luck, and thanks for being supportive of the budget car enthusiast!
