So obviously, if the plane moves faster than the conveyor belt, it will move forward, get lift, and fly.
Where is the whole "matching speeds" thing that they agreed to do? They should have given both the plane and the belt 25mph ground speed, which would make the plane stay still, as a person would on a treadmill. This would entail cutting back on the throttle as soon as the plane started to move forward, but that is what they said they were going to do...match speeds.
