anyone know any cheap places to stay to snowboard at snow shoe, i've researched it on the internet, but nothing has come up besides staying at the villages, i'm willing to stay an hour or so from the village mountain to save some money.

i cant see a westward ski trip being cheaper than west virginia, but we stayed in the villages and had a hell of a time. The "snow" sucks, as it was too hot, and as more and more traffic hit the slopes, it slowly got packed down to cement-like ice.

try to get a group to go and get a group rate
i used to live in WV and would go to snow shoe, winterplace, cannan(sp) valley, Whisp (in maryland) etc a couple of times a year at least. used to go with scouts, would get a whole weekend staying at hotels on the slows for like 150 bucks. get there friday night, leave sunday morning for checkout.

Its the best slope over on this side. Closest town is 45mins away. It takes forever to get there to, but its worth it.
