Anyone disagree? At least with the fact that a kid with such an advanced learning curve should be able to skip grades?

Although the real purpose of the article was a slap at Bush and his education program. Take the kid out of government schools and put her in private. Problem solved. What.... you mean it's not free?? Tough. Children gifted or not, require sacrifice. While the parents of this article put her in the academy, there is still a bitch about splitting into two houses and the financial drain. Move closer to the school, do what it takes and shut the hell up. It's your kid and as a parent it is your duty to provide every opportunity to excel. As for skipping grades, the kid should be in Harvard if she's able. But rather than raise them up, it's easier to drag them down.

Better to have everyone at a bare minimum than to have anything outstanding. It's sad, but our public education system is a joke.
