i dont disagree with you on that jaime, but still who is to say that aaron wasnt on roids? they didnt test people like that back then, granted the technology back then wasnt anything like it is 2day...... im not accusin aaron at all im just sayin there is the possibility!
Steroids aren't dangerous because of the muscles it builds, but the side effects in getting there. In other words, Aaron has neither the tell tale signs nor the after effects that would certainly affect someone in his age if he in fact had abused steroids.Originally Posted by B18CDELSLO

If after 50 yrs in the "bizz" noone has been able to find a kink in his armor, they never will. Look at his stats. Like any NORMAL aging player, his HR's dwindled year after year after he got older and just before his retirement. Look at Bonds, Mcgwire, Canseco, and the rest of the roiders in comparison. They hit some HR's every year, then SUDDENLY their HR totals SHOT STRAIGHT UP AFTER they got OLDER????? Ummm, it doesn't work that way, period. We don't get stronger as we age. We don't get better hand eye coordination. We don't suddenly make that much better contact with the ball either. Look at pure hitters like Gwynn, Rose, Ichiro, A-rod, Ripken JR, Robinson, Clemente....they had/have better hand eye coordination than any player today. It's not about just plain "contact". It's about bat speed and power when you're talking HR's.
BTW, I think Sosa was saucing too, but got spooked with the whole Mcgwire and corked bat thing and has stayed under the radar. Look at his stats too. He matched Mcgwire HR for HR for several seasons, suddenly now he's not ever in contention anymore?
Look at Palmeiro too. He got in a little bit of a pickle and has blended into basic retirement right away before having to answer too many questions. Wonder why that was. He had never hit more than 25 HR's season, suddenly he started hitting 25+ for 10 yrs in a row??? Aight, sure.
Bottomline is that you either like Bonds or you don't. The distinction line usually lies where you stand on his record. You either think he's a cheater or you don't care. I personally think it's a chicken shit way to get your name in the papers. Look at how many REAL players achieved greatness before all these yahoos and they did so without having to use steroids.
