I haven't read the rest of the thread, but I felt compelled to answer this post. Do you know why there are three times as many dog shelters as abuse shelters for women? I'll tell you. Do you know how much a woman costs? Jesus Christ beyond the feeding, clothing, make-up, nails, tampons and hopefully some birth control. There is still the time spent talking, soothing, telling them they look good and listening to them bitch. Have you any idea how much time that takes? And what is time? Time is money as the saying goes. Dogs? Throw them a biscuit and their ok.

And the difference between humans is clear too, dogs may not have a soul. But since when can you have someone who is 70 yr's old put to sleep? The ability to rationalize is something that's suppose to separate us from other species. The actions described in Vick's case describes people without that ability.
