    Default Termites?

Has anyone had termites in their house?

I just moved to this new house, it had a termite letter and everything (basically stating that the house has no termites)

Don't see any termite damage or nothing, but outside the house there are a good few "flying ants" and if i'm not mistaken thats what termites look like, ants with wings.

Well with that said does anyone know any termite inspector or anyone who can confirm and/or treat it at a reasonable price.

    Thanks

I doubt seriously that it's termites. Termites don't swarm until the first signs of spring(usually March to April). Through the rest of the year, termites don't wings. They are probably ants after all. I was a termite tech for 5 years before I went to Budwesier. Later, QD.

termites dont look like ant's with wings - those are queen ants, and if they have huge mandible's ( pincers ) then they're probably carpenter ants

Au contraire, mon amie. They are very similar in appearance. The main visible difference is that ants have three body sections and termites have two. Also, the wings of a termite are of equal length while the ant's are different. Later, QD.

au contraire, termites are little white specs basically. my step father works for any pest, give them a try. its good work, good service. my step father is at 770-527-1905. his name is bob, but he is in the wildlife section, just ask about termites and tell him someone refered you.

If your step father told you that, then he is very misinformed, little boy. As I stated, I was a termite inspector and tech for 5 years, and know quite a bit about them as that is all I dealt with. Later, QD.

Termites have several different colors. Swarmers are black in color. The yellowish white you are talking about would be some of the workers. Later, QD.

If the ants are freakin' huge, that means they're really friendly Hassan.. stick your hand down and pick one up and play with it.

alright you did everything, on the other hand, i have actually dealt with the termites. but still IF YOU DONT SEE ANY WOOD SHAVINGS, YOU HAVE NO TERMITES, just go get some ant killer and put it on the ant hills.

LOLOL!!!! You're a goddamn joke. You give some shitty advice. What do you mean with "i have actually dealt with the termites?" You haven't done a goddamn thing. You have no reason to give advice about anything if you don't know anything about it. There are a lot more to termite inspections than wood shavings you goddamn son of a bitch. Later, QD.

alright QD, i bow to you or whatever. now get off your high horse and quit being an ass. you know, and i know, he doesnt have termites. and, we agree on the ants? then why is it complicated? ants=ant killer..... now quit being an ass.

I've told you before, I'm not being an ass. I just deal with stupidity by making the stupid feel even worse. I never said he didn't have termites. There was nothing we agreed on. It's only complicated because you chimed in trying to contradict what I know with something that you thought that you knew..... now quit being an idiot. Later, QD.

Which is kind of why you fall into the same category as Sullen for not knowing anything about termites. Later, QD.

Hey QD, I have a question since we're on this topic and such. We have a front patio, and the railing recently has been having almost perfect holes chewed on the underside ( and on the ground below you can see some sawdust if that's what you would want to call it )
Also sometimes we can hear a noise of some sort ( but its been awhile ) coming from inside the railing. Any tips short of getting a pest controller?

No. How about waiting for all the facts before coming to conclusions? You're just full of goddamn bullshit. You don't know shit about this so why bother trying? I have never known anyone to be impressed by another's level of stupidity and I don't think that will ever change. So shut the fuck up. Later, QD.

Hmm, the hole is about.... I'll have to check when I'm at home to make sure, but if I recall right, roughly the head of a standard sized wood screw/pea sized?

Now, with more facts, you can pretty much assume it's wood boring, or carpenter bees. They look pretty much like bumblebees. Just shoot some bee spray in there and plug it up and that'll be a quick fix.

Sullen, although you're GUESS was right, it doesn't make you look any more knowledgeable on the subject. You just shot out a guess without knowing some more details. That's why I asked the size of the hole. A smaller hole would've indicated possible termite work. Guessing makes a person look more stupid than saying I don't know. Later, QD.

Or you can save yourself money and do it yourself. Just go to any hardware store or pest control store and buy some stuff(less than $7-8) and spray it in the hole. Wait a couple of days and plug the hole. Fuck his step father and paying money for something you can do yourself. Later, QD.
