Default I think I have lost all interest in the car "scene"

As time has gone by I have just become less and less involved. On a regular basis I drive a 94 accord with hail damage and no a/c, and it doesnt bother me. I have 4 other vehicles in my driveway/garage that I could use for show/race and I never even touch them. I just don't see it being worth the time, effort or money anymore. It is EXPENSIVE to build a nice car, and the more you do to it, the more you have to do to it, and the less reliable it comes. It is a never ending money pit. I would rather invest the money into making more money, buying a house, funding other hobbies etcetc. Oh well, just thought I would let that out.

Until you do those things, then a month later it feels slow again because you're used to it Hehe. Do you still have your Nissan?

Stop whining about it and just stop! Everyone who can't handle it, just stop doing it! Nickie did, follow in her shoes and just do it instead of making lame threads about it.

I had a guy at a show today tell me how he was getting started on his Honda and he asked me what I had invested in mine, and I just said the exact same thing to him, I said I dont know, But I do know its a money pit...lol. I said it will bleed you of all money.

BUT A true car person will still be into it regardless. I am getting older ( Okay MUCH older ) but I still love it as much as I did when I started, Yes it takes money from other things, but we all knew this the day we started this game.

I use to hate when people asked me that because it made me think about it, hah. IMO you don't have to spend 30k on a Honda to be considered a car enthusiest. I'm willing to be that 80%+ people who drive nice sports cars are very much into their car.

I just find it funny how people act like they didnt know it was going to take money to do this ( I am not saying the guy who started this topic thought that ) I am just saying people come on one day and act like this was a suprise to them and they didnt expect this. We are car people.... This is our passion... This is what we do.... Money goes in, But the happiness I get from the car when new stuff goes on makes it all worth it

If I had 30k invested in mine, Id kill myself because Id know I was completley nuts!! HA HA HA HA

But when people ask me how much I have spent, I just tell them I dont know because I have never added it up, and then tell them most people who do this dont even want to think about the money they have sunk into it....

I guess I can agree. Cars are too much problems. They break, they make us mad/sad, we put money into it, it's okay again, then the cycle can continue...

I understand how you feel Chris. Sometimes I wanna stop doing it but I LOVE to drive. I'm gonna always fix up what ever car I have. Even if it's just a set of wheel & tires I'm gonna do something to it. I'm getting older so when I'm done with the 240 I'm gonna move up to something a little more my age. Maybe a g35, bmw, audi, or a Lexus. But I love the way a car handles after you mod them so I will probably be the old guy that still has rims on his Benz or something.

If i dont use my spare money on cars and such ill just end up spending it at a bar or going out partying..... And i used to be able to save money so good. I think i might need another hobby as well, but i <3 my teg to much to give up on it.

My mother's friend asked my mother "Is Ryan still WASTING his money on his car?" My mother came back with a childish, but still funny rebuttle: "Atleast he's not wasting his money on drugs, and at the bar like ALL of your children, he has something to show for the money he's spent on it" . Random arguement quote of the day.

i've learned all hobbies are money pits its just learning to deal w/ the loss of $$$... i used to play paintball every weekend spending 100-150$ a week to play, i figured shit that is same as a car payment or chunk of a house payment, sure enough i bought a house and a new car and stopped playing paintball. its all in priorities... i'm building my 4th car now; time to have fun and shell out a whole lot of $$$ for nothing but pure enjoyment
