Anyone ever driven a car without insurance?

hell, add gwinnett to that list!!!

my boyfriend just recently had some dumbass pull out on him, which totalled his car. the guy gives the slackass cop some bullshit excuse about why he has no proof of insurance & why it's not showing as active in the system, but swears the truck is insured so the stupid ass cop lets the guy go. so when it comes time for us to get a check from this guys insurance company, suprise! he has no fucking insurance & he's not even the owner of the truck...apparently, nobody knew who the owner of the truck was & the cops weren't willing to help us out. so yeah, luckily, the car had uninsured motorist on it so my boyfriend got a check from his insurance for the car, but it wasn't near what it was worth. needless to say, if we ever figure out who owns the truck, somebody is going to be forking out some money.

anyways, moral of the story, i agree with everybody else...you're a dumbass & i hope that if you get in a wreck, whoever you hit gets out & beats the shit out of you & takes you for everything you've got, which apparently isn't much if you can't even afford liability only on a fucking 1990 geo!

go get a damn job like the rest of us instead of sitting here pulling this bullshit about "i guess i'm just not as rich as you guys"! nobody is going to feel sorry for you so if you're looking for sympathy with that statement, you've come to the wrong place!

lol i agree with everyone else here. Although my insurance is expensive, im a 16 yr old. I would hate to see you get into lawsuits over not having insurance on ur car. Sorry bro, cant back u up here.

yea i got pulled over for it. they didnt arrest me but i had to get my car towed to my house and the fine was around $350 and i had to plead no-low to not loose my license. i got lucky.

stay away from cobb county

man you do not need to carry proof of ins with you. they have it in the database like Brett said.
i got pulled over and i didnt have proof. i asked him about the database on their laptops. he said no but then realized i wasnt looking for it anymore in my car so he went back to his car. he then got the info off the comp.

you'd better believe i'd be filing some sort of formal complaint against that officer then. basically if it isn't in the system and they can't call his ins company from the scene and verify then they are supposed to go for a ride downtown ;). hope you have the accident report with the officer's name and badge number, then find out who their captain is and file a formal complaint. either that or sue the county for negligence in the matter.

Shamefully I did the same thing about 6 years ago when I first moved down here not knowing the consequences. I went a few months then got coverage.. by far one of the dumbest things I've ever done although I never hit anyone. I found out that is why my insurance was so fucking high in clayton county because of all the uninsured motorists in the area.. I moved to Douglas county and my insurance dropped significantly (I'm sure for other reasons as well)

I've been pulled over twice since then, the first time I didnt have proof of insurance and the cop gave me a ticket for no insurance but it was thrown out when I provided proof in court. The other time was in cobb county, although I had proof and she called to verified with the insurance company she still gave me a ticket cause it wasnt in the system

Yeah I drove my '83 Cadilac w/out insurance and a tag.... for like 3 months or so

:goodjob: agreed!! that's why i am the proud owner of two 1st gen vehicles.....the registration on both the 83 s-10 and the 87 acura legend coupe was $40 total and insurance on both runs me $64 per month with allstate insurance. no one can be tha broke not to be able to afford that amount. kid , stop fucking around with us and yourself and get insurance ...or sell me the 240sx, that or trade me it for the s-10.

Ok u want advice of the outome.Here's one

Under the new GA law effective Jan 04-05 not sure. A fine will be sent by mail if u have no insurance on the car that u register. So if you don't get insurance asap, you will end up having to pay tons of citations.

I hope u are smart enough to do the right thing.

In the meantime....Stay out of Gwinnett county...ESp duluth!:jerkit:
