pay sucks, 19 hours straight of manhunt= priceless. We got em. All 3 of them within 7 miles of the facility. The wonders of Shepherds and AR15s make beg at close range.

hard to get away from 4 tracking attack german shepherds and special operations team members in full tactical mode. Not to mention we used our access to a chopper with heat signature sensing apparatus. It's really not fair in reality.

yeah, only if you want to end up in prison for murder my friend. we are just like police, unless they are committing an aggravated act of aggression toward us or another person, we are not authorized to use deadly force, aka, shooting at them.
it all depends. to get a job as your run of the mill corrections officer yeah have to pass a civil services test, interview with a psychologist and so on and then you go through a year probationary period where you attend a basic training course that is 16 weeks long. To be part of the CERT squad, correctional emergency response team, our special operations unit, you have to pass a fairly rigorous physical fitness and agility test, another more in depth psychological exam, and be selected by a panel of the 2 regional CERT commanders and the team leader at your facility. After that you have two phase schools so cleverly called phase one and phase two, each of which are 4 weeks long. We use regular line staff officers a little bit during escapes and they get training on how to use the remington 870 police magnum 12 gauge longgun, .40 cal smith and wesson 4006 pistol, asp batons and OC spray, but if you wanna play with the fun stuff like the AR15s, pepperball guns, 37mm supersock cannons, etc you have to have the tactical munitions class at phase one of CERT training. Our K9 officers who have the dogs go through the regular basic course like everyone else and then they have another 16 week K9 school with their CDS dogs, the drug dogs. After that, they go another 8 week I believe it is for the tracking and attack dogs. The reason for the difference is that we train our own drug dogs, but the tracking and attack dogs are bought trained so the shorter training is just to familiarize the handlers with the procedures and dogs. I have my interview for K9 next week, so I may be CERT and K9 pretty soon.
Sounds like fun/dangerous job.
