    Default Ebay Question

i sold some shit on ebay the other week for a friend of mine and we shipped it via usps (i went with him so i could have visual that it was DEFINETLY shipped)

we put insurance on it and delivery confirmation

i get an email from the buyer today sayin he was outta town and just got back and hasnt received the package yet. i checked the confirmation number and it says it was delivered.

is it between him and usps now?

Its still between you and the buyer. When he signs for it..it is then out of everyones hands.

EDIT: if it says it was delivered than it was delivered. I have never personally seen UPS say that something was delivered and it wasnt "delivered."

Just make sure you have everything in order because thats exactly how you get scammed on Ebay.

well its USPS (united states postal service)

but theres insurance on it and it says delivered, so does that mean that the post office will pay him if it comes to getting money back?

well then. If they said it was delivered then there isn't really anything that the guy can do about it. Same goes for USPS, I have never seen them say something was delivered and it wasn't delivered.

The guy will try and reverse the PayPal charges and the you will have to get the money from the post office.... you insured it, not him. Never had a problem like that before though.

They do, but you have proof that it was delivered via the USPS confirmation.

    dont listen to these fuckheads

ok here's what will happen... packages rarely disappear... either he has it ... someone stole it from HIS house (not your fault) ... or it somehow got lost in the mail(RARE).

First thing you do is send him the tracking number... for him to see that its not there... be like it was shipped, you did your part and thats all you can do, its between him and USPS now (tell him that).... Now say he tries to file a claim on paypal for "item not received" they will put your account in "pink" status, and possibly suspend it for a day or two... Just fax them your tracking number and/or receipt and shazaam case closed. If you can prove them that you sent it he has no case on you. Now say he files "item not as described" shit can get sticky but in the end odds are that you win.

either way you should be good.

edit: you do not need signature confirmation for items over 500 bux i believe (don't quote me)

I would go ahead and hurry and withdraw that money from paypal if you have not. And if you have a Paypal Debit card, take it out that way, since its immediate. Instead of the transfer to bank which takes a couple days. Paypal can reverse that if he files a claim right away.

That way, when he files a claim, you won't be out the cash because of a fuckhead. Your paypal account will just be negative until its resolved, which is no biggie.

Also, dealing with paypal is a PAIN. I FINALLY got my money out of there after they held 1200 for about 3 months. I sold Wii's, long story, but account was suspended, etc.

Just get your money out quickly, then its no problem. I now take my money out asap with my paypal debit card after I make a sale, or buy something right away. So I can't get fucked again.

Oh, it wouldn't come out of your bank account. Paypal can't access your account, unless they close your account for good, then they can collect any fee's or negative funds your have through any account you have provided the info for.

But anyways, then I wouldn't sweat it too much. Just be glad your cash isn't tied up in there.

just tell your friend that you have to refund his money and he's getting the part back... get the $$ from your friend.

and jsut tell the dude that u sent the shit to send the part back and then keep the money and the part and move to cambodia and feast on grapes 5 meals a day and swim with the dolphins and manta rays and large mouth bass and live happily ever after.
