    Default Windows Vista Help.....

So i have a computer here at work with a Beta version of Vista.... its got to be to be here already. Vista Ultimate.

Anyway, i have the computer plugged into the LAN line, and the icon on the bottom of the screen shows my 100mbps connection, but i cant get IE or Mozilla to connect. I have tried setting up internet connections a couple times but cant get it to work. Everything indicates that the connection is good, its just like IE isnt communicating with the eithernet connection. Anyone?

You could try pinging your computer from another computer on the network, that would be the definitive way to check your availability.

yarg - I've been learning to familiarize myself around with Vista - if you still have this problem tomorrow... well check your PMs

^ as Atif just suggested turn off any Firewall Windows setting that may be applied... Vista also has a cool feature in the networking section to basically diagnos this issue and tell you where it is... it will show you were the connection stops. If your on a small network make sure you can ping the router/switch/other machines, make sure your router/switch doesn't have you turned off for outbound traffic or has limits on how many can go out. If your on a large network there are really way too many variables, network settings, protocols, etc...
