    Default So I decided to get SIRIUS..

    For home and the car... and already think is better then regular radio...

    I think is worth every penny of the $12.95 a month. You can get long term service and save, but I went with the month to month.
    I got the portable unit wich I thought was cool little unit and easy to use.

    And I can listen to SIRIUS from my PC or any PC for that matter w/ loggin information.

    5 stars, I recommend it if you don't have it.

    I was also in that same situation, But pablo has it in his car and everytime I rode with him we would listen to that shit for long trips especially the comedy station and it made long trips entertaining for the most part

    $99.00 at Best Buys w/ a $50.00 rebate for this unit. Plug in your lighter, call Sirius to activate, make sure the antenna is somewhere where signal will be good and you are ready to go.

    Does the antenna need to be on the roof, or is it cool to keep it in the car?

    You can do both, I placed my antenna inside the car ran the wire under the carpet and set it in the back deck.

    At 1st I placed the antenna on the trunk lid, But then I remembered, I work in the hood.. so you never know. Works just fine in the back deck =]

    I told you, Julio. It's an awesome shit. I just that same unit on Ebizzle today. I also listen on my computer. That part is cool. I also thought it a waste to pay for radio until I activated mine. Now I told myself, I said, "Self. It is worth the $13 to listen to this shit." Julio, you listen to Raw Dog comedy channel? Shit is funny as fizzle. Later, QD.

    Sirius OWNS all. No commercials, great reception (except in parking decks and shit), HUGE selection of channels (4 techno stations!! ) and you never have to worry about being stuck cruising through bumfuck Georgia listening to country stations or getting sick of CDs.

    ^^^ The price, for one. Although XM is supposed to go up to $12.95 also in the next few months. I do like Sirius better for some reason. I just got my second car unit and with activation of a second unit, it is half off. So instead of $12.95 X2, it is $12.95 and $6.95. XM doesn't have that. Later, QD.

    yes they do. they may have not done that when you last looked but when i was activating my second one last week it was half price.

    Does sirius offer the same online streaming as XM? i assume so from reading the other post but i just wanted to make sure it was sirius streaming and not just random webcast streaming.

    A couple of other differences, then, lolol:

    Sirius has a lifetime subscription for $500, XM's highest level is a 5 year term for the same price. With Sirius, you get free satellite radio on your PC, XM has it for $4/month.

    Channels:
    Sirius = Howard Stern
    XM = Extreme XM

    Sirius = Maxim
    XM = Playboy

    Results comparison review:
    Sports = Sirius - based on wide range of channels
    News = XM - has top brand name newscasters
    Talk radio & Entertainment = Sirius
    Hip Hop/R&B = Both
    Pop = XM - very good mix
    Rock = Sirius

    Later, QD.

    it WAS 4/month until they increased their rates to match Sirius's rates. now they are equal in every way in terms or pricing it seems. the rest of your arguments are valid

    I love the house music channels on XM btw, they have like 5-6 of them that cater to different styles of dance music. they have also added some channels in the last few months, i can only assume to help bridge any gap they may have had in their programming and to be exactly (as best they can) as Sirius.

    Yea. I have a Jensen car set-up that I bought for on Ebay for a total of $30. I didn't know the price match had already gone into effect. I don't know about XM(Although I could always look), but on Sirius, I have a channel called Backspin. It plays nothing but pre 1993 rap. A LOT of 1980's rap, in fact. I love that station. Lolol.
