I've several times spent less than a buck in gas. Just to get somewhere I really wanted to go. It's embarassing, but i'm sure we've all done it a time or two.
back in highschool, me and my buddy put a whopping $.36 in gas in his car.
02' Miata
$0.57, back when gas was $1.30-ish for 87.
nah what was even better was the lady in front of me got $2 in gas and cigarettes and paid with pennies and dimes..i was like god damn im going to be here all day..plus if you are that broke, i think gas is a wee little more important than a smoke

I don't think I have ever put less than $10 in my tank. Everytime I fill up there is this dumb stoner girl who I went to high school with, and she never puts more than $5 in, so she is always there.

i spent $0.96 to get from a parking spot at the gas station to get to the pump, cause my car ran outta gas (this was about 6 years ago)

I had to buy $5 last week because that's all I had.
$5 = 100 Miles (approx)![]()
i drove from blue ridge to towncenter one time on e...
made it back to jasper and put lik 1.75 in it on the way back.... i don't know how i made it...
I've put 75 cents in the bike before.
so your car gets roughly 50mpg?...I call uber BSOriginally Posted by Ran Kizama

Um...no. My car can run on 87 octane swamp water.Originally Posted by MeanGreen

87 octane = $1.99 (I think $1.81 at the time, but we'll say $1.99 for today's rate)
5 / 1.9 = 2.6 (We'll say 2.5 for simplicity.)
100 / 2.5 = 40mpg (100 / 2.6 = 38mpg)
And yes, my car does get anywhere between 35-40mpg depending on how I drive it.
EDIT: Sorry. It's 87 octane, not 89.![]()
Try 5.00 divided by 1.99 for 87 (think gas was cheaper last week too) that is about 2.5 gallons. 100 divided by 2.5 equal = 40Originally Posted by MeanGreen

I use to have to put 93 in my Mazdaspeed, but the factory actually recommends the crap gas for the Yaris. I guess it burns it better or something?Originally Posted by MeanGreen

I know what you're talking about though. My Mazdaspeed took premium and it only got like 20-25mpg. The money I'm saving with the Yaris is quite a bit. Then again, I also lost 100HP.![]()
premium is 2.19 right now at most places.
from reading these post my 42 cents is not so bad

I filled up like $3.35 to get home one time.
I filled up around the V area, I was in my Accord (4cyl Auto), and on empty, I exited at 107 on 85N, got home, and the light came on. Next morning, went to school, came back home, then went to QT, and I didn't even sputter. lol.
Honda lies with their gas tanks, fucking liars, my Prelude scares me, the digital gauge realllllly fluctuates a lot, but i mean, the tank max is i think 16, i usually do 12-13 with the light on, lowest i have put in the Lude is 4.55ish on premium gas.

Not necessarily, Ever read your owners manual to see the capacities? My accord says 17gal. but when i fill up its around 14. A little reserve so if you're stuck in the middle of nowhere on Excitement, you can still get somewhere.Originally Posted by fastboyamin
As for small amounts of gas, i work at BP and for some reason, it annoys me when someone is seriously deciding between gas or cigarettes/beer. Kids (18+) bring me a $5 bill, buy cigs and tell me to put the rest in gas and i cant cause it wont let me put less than a dollar.![]()
Where are your priorities?. We have prepay too so we dont get any drive-offs
