So its smoking now? Have you done a compression test? Do that first because it might be something like the turbo, then post a for sure answer, that will give the buyer a better idea about what is going on
Yeah I wasn't supposed to get on it yet and a guy with a fixed up Chly. 300 srt kert trying to race so of course I made him look like an idiot,lol and any way started it up next day and blue smoke.I did a compression test and sure enough its the rings.But there is no power loss at all which was kinda weird.Just pissed cause I have a guy that will do it for 400 parts and all and I have no money and late on bills now so it must go.
Post the compression numbers. That is weird if you don't feel any power loss? I would like to see which cylinder went down, or if all of them went down, could be the Head gasket also, just trying to help you. I mean if the engine was broke in properly(there is many ways to do this) on a built bottom end, then you should be good.
Yeah but it wasn't broken in all the way yet.I think the first was 130 dry 150 wet second 135 dry 175 wet and pretty sure the ither 2 were almost the same.Sorry can't think straight cause a nerve is exposed from my tooth worst pain in the world,lol.But oil and water are both fine.Quick question though would I have to get a new head gasket or would the cometic be able to be reused.Kinda crazy question but heard I could reuse.But you id you get on it the least little bit there goes the blue smoke.
And obviously you know they are low comp pistons just an fyi in case
I would never reuse a head gasket, Cometic or not. How many miles do you have on the motor? I would almost be interested just to take it apart and rebuild it myself. If you can get it done for that cheap($500), thats pretty damn good. I really don't think you would like what I have anyways. Good luck

I'm sure you would,lol.I don't mind to rebuild myself if I have too.I sold my stock 98 200sx se-r last year for 4200 on CL.I have a stock sr20det here at my house so if I wanted to I could replace but no need.If I don't get 4500 or a nice trade I will keep its no big deal I'm just pissed I have so much into this car and the rings go bad.Plus the sentras are hard to sell these days I have had 2 that I had forever that were monsters and as clean as can be and neither one sold for more than 2800 with JDM swaps and a ton of work.Well good luck and thanks for looking.

Take a couple of weeks to rebuild it then put it back up for sale. I think you might be hard pressed to sell a smoking car. How was it dynoed before the motor was broke in. Seem kinda backwards. I would be really interested but acouple of things don't line up. Im not calling you out, I just think you need a little more info.

Well most pple don't dyno a car until the motor is broken in. They might get it tuned so that it runs until its broke in. That's all, I'm just askin

Who was the shop? I know some shops in Chattanooga, and Nashville. Most of them know their stuff.All motor and turbo motors Should have the same or similar break in periods. Usually i get an engine running, then I get it running safe, then get the motor broke in over about 500 miles or so, change the oil, and get it tuned. What is the extra block that you have? just a little FYI i know the guy who sold you this car personally and i know you havent had this car for 4 years. he had it for 3 and never put the title in his name. HE did all the work at JGY and put a little over 10k in the car. so get your facts straight before you try to lie to people to sell this car. It is a good car but no need to lie to someone if your trying to get it off your hands! and just to straighten something else up YOU DIDNT DO ANY WORK TO GET IT TO WHERE IT IS. if yall have any real questions about the car look up the guy on SR20 forum who sold the car to this guy. his name on there is SERTURBO98. he just got rid of the car less than a month ago!!!!!:DQuote:
