[QUOTE=stephen]nuclear proliferation - with dick lugar

I couldnt find any info on a bill for proliferation. Only a bill seeking funding for research.

This is decent legislation, but Obama nor Coburn had anything to dow ith the original legislation, only the amanedments. It is also something that Obama, McCain and the Senate leaders from both parties violated.

The violated portion: • A prohibition on buying votes with earmarks.

This was 1 of 5 amendments that Obama, McCain and Coburn sponsored. We all know it was recently violated with the the passing of the bailout package.

    both co-sponsored DARFUR ACCOUNTABILITY ACT

both co-sponsored DARFUR PEACE AND ACCOUNTABILITY ACT

both co-sponsored DARFUR CIVILIAN PROTECTION LEGISLATION

both co-sponsored DARFUR NO-FLY ZONE LEGISLATION

both co-sponsored DARFUR SUDAN DIVESTMENT AUTHORIZATION ACT

    both co-sponsored CHINA RESOLUTION

also i found this link: http://www.cnn.com/POLITICS/blogs/po...p-on-iran.html

^^^ this one has to do with IRAN LEGISLATION...mostly addressing oil investments into the country. wasn't that a premise in palin's stump speeches....that we're being destroyed by foreign oil?

    OBAMA AND RICHARD (DICK) LUGAR:

a link about the law they both helped pass: http://www.fas.org/asmp/campaigns/MA...LugarObama.htm

there was already a bill sponsored by lugar and nunn...the bill has been amended on 3 different occassions...the final with the help of obama (which help to reduce small arms and ammunition in the hands of terrorist).

Dick Lugar, is Indiana's Republican, senior senator and has frequently been named as a top choice for Obama's secretary of state. Lugar is regarded as a foreign policy expert and has chaired the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, now chaired by Joe Biden. Obama recently stoked cabinet predictions by citing Lugar at the final debate as one of the people "who have shaped my ideas [on foreign policy] and who will be surrounding me in the White House."
sounds like reaching across party lines to me...

This should of been looked upon as a win for the American people as a whole, if you voted and believed in Sen Obama. All this election really accomplished was putting the ignorance of the American public in the spot light. Imagine if Obama had lost, the black community would of been outraged and blamed it on racism. Look how pathetic some of the ignorant white people acted during this election, saying Obama was a muslim terrorist and such, I mean come on, that is not even a realistic possibility. Both sides showed ugliness and ignorance, and the media put it as the spotlight of this election, and it truly makes me sick. This election furthered my lack of confidence and faith in the American public, and right now im ashamed to be an American. Just some of my thoughts
Come on man, how many blk presidents can you count on one hand. African Americans have the right to be very happy and pleased b/c this is a very historic moment for the african american race. Can we just enjoy the moment, you have for the past 400 years. I totally understand people all over the world are going to be ignorant and unfair but even 61% of the white population thought Obama should have won. So please man out of the kindness of your heart let the americans and definitley the african americans enjoy the moment!!! God Bless America

To those who support Obama and feel the need to argue, criticize and rub it in peoples face; that man said not one bad thing about John McCain or Sarah Palin OR George Bush. He showed humility, didn't gloat although he easily could have, follow his example if you're such a staunch supporter.

Honestly I question anyone who wants to put down those who voted McCain. As a long time supporter of Obama since the Iowa caucuses, I've gone through this with Clinton voters. When Barack beat her the animosity was much worse than it is now with people who voted for John McCain, but we knew in order to win the general election there had to be some kind of common ground. This is no different, arguing gets you nowhere except division and more animosity.

To those who support McCain, all I can say is give the man a chance before you write him off. He will be the Commander in Chief, that will not change. But as I said before I've been a supporter since January, I didn't like Barack much in the beginning but when I sat down and actually listened to the man, see it from his side.. I understood. Barack is not who a lot of people paint him to be in the media. Contrary to belief he is not a Socialist. Obama is pretty well centered politically but in order for him to win the democratic nomination he had to shift left.. there was no other way.

If you listened to his speech you heard the real Obama. He will work with McCain, he will work with Palin politically. I have no doubt in my mind he will win over a lot of you that are upset with his nomination. I'm not saying go out and buy Obama gear.. jump behind him completely and not question what he does. Hold the man accountable, but at the same time open up your minds and at least be objective to the future of this country under an Obama administration. And I apologize for those Obama supporters who lack tact and humility, understand those who have really been in the trenches with this campaign are not like that.

May I also just say I was annoyed how last night the news outlets constantly cut to black get togethers.. why not show the NATION celebrating? Anyway, just my , lets be adults about this.

Bringing this back from the dead to see how many of the Messiah's supports still believe any of this. I bolded some of my favorite parts.

A rare breed, so rare infact that most say it doesnt exist. Obama never gave off that vibe to me, neither has any other politician...except Bob Barr.

Come on now Tony. All you had to do is look at his record since he stepped into politics and you could easily see through all of the lies he told during the campaign.

Remember when you called us all ignorant when we pointed it out to you?

My memory is not that short, many of the arguments against Obama during the general election hardly dealt with his policy and was more along the lines of his lack of executive experience or how unpatriotic he was supposedly. Hell he kept his promise on bipartisanship and that is the reason the public option was thrown out. Regardless I'm sure I'd be 10 times as disappointed in McCain at this point as I am in Obama.

Actually you are wrong. Most of the arguments were for his hard left politics and his straight party line votes.

Wrong again. Govt option was thrown out because dems in the senate said no to it. GOP has no say in anything that is in that bill as proven by the fact that dems decided to do away with the bi-partisan conference to reconcile the bills and decided to do it with only dem leadership behind closed doors.

What ever happened to giving people a chance? Or does that only apply when your guy wins?
