    Hi, everybody. As I'm sure you can tell from my name, although it may be a bit misleading, I am Iam99x's girlfriend...not his wife
    I've been a member of 240atl now for a while, but I decided to join this forum as well. I'm trying to learn about cars, and so far, I've been unsuccessful. I know more than I did when I first started dating Iam99x, but I'm still relatively ignorant about automobiles. Any help you can lend would be amazing
    One of the main reasons it's difficult for me to learn is because every time I ask a question, I get an answer that involves technical car terms that I don't understand, so if you can help me, please try to keep it basic and explain EVERYTHING like you would to a child. No reason to be mean. My interest in learning is genuine.
    I guess I can tell you a few things about myself, as well. I am a sophomore at UGA this year. My undergraduate major is going to be in accounting, and I plan to attend law school to be a corporate attorney. I drive a beat up, piece of shit Ford Focus, but my dream cars include a Mercedes McLaren and a Bugatti Veyron. I also really like the look of Nissan 300zx's, and I might be interested in having one as my next car if I can ever afford it while in school. I'm 20 years old, and I live in Athens in an apartment with my boyfriend.
    That's about it. I think I've met some of you in person at Sonic Meets, but hopefully now, not only will I learn more, I'll become more acquainted with you all.

    To answer your question, we've been together for 2 years. He didn't show me to this site of ask me to join, just like he didn't ask me to join 240atl. I joined here and there because I have a sincere interest in learning about cars. If you're not here to help me, then there's not much of a point in replying since that's all I care for. Me joining isn't asking for problems. I'm glad he's into cars, and I support him fully.

    Being super important on a website is SUPER COOL! Congrats...I bet you feel special. However, I live with my boyfriend, am around him 24/7, get on his computer daily, and have been looking at this site for months now even though I haven't been a member. So, nice try. Maybe next time

    Thanks. The best site I've come across thus far is howstuffworks.com.
    It's pretty good at explaining things without making them too technical. And the diagrams are helpful.
    As for this site not helping any, it's what I've been told, but I suppose if I ever come across a question that I can't find the answer to online or something that is only described in technical terms and I needed it dumbed down, that's when I'll come asking for help.

    Well, my car was totaled. NOT my fault. So now I need a new one. But I really need to keep the price under $1400. And I don't want a 240. I truly want something automatic. I somewhat know how to drive a manual. My boyfriend taught me a bit, but it was only for a few minutes, and then I never tried again. If I learn to drive a stick, I want it to be because I want to learn, not because I need to learn. So that's why I don't want to get a 5 speed. Soo...what would be the best car for me in that price range and that is an automatic if I want to learn about cars or get into the car scene? A Honda?
