    Default yet another noob

Been it ATL for around a year and been lurking here for a little while. Figured I'd finally register I live in Chamblee, but will be moving to Sandy Springs in a week or two.

I lived in south florida the past 3 years before heading here and was involved with the southfloridaracing.com crowd for a while. Fun group

I currently drive a slow ass 2004 mitsu lancer ralliart which I've done some minor work on in its early days. Mitsu made some big promises about the new 4g69 engine and the MIVEC VVT cam. My financial situation has improved a lot since then, so I'll be doing a minor upgrade in the near future

The car had the original 'World Engine' that was to show up in serveral other Mitsu models, Hyundia models, and some new GM & Dodge models. This meant the aftermarket should be decent, right? It was used in the Eclipse & Outlander by Mitsu, the Caliber SRT-4 by Dodge, and the Sonata by Hyundia, then it kinda died after mitsu switch to a the 4b series. And so did my desire to dump any more money into it, since any real work I'd do would have to be custom due to lack of any real aftermarket. Not worth spending that much for a low end car that wouldnt get past the 14's without FI regardless of what I pumped into it. I haven't run mine in over 2 years, and I still hold one of the top 10 fastest recorded 1/4's in the car without using FI or spraying Stilll not saying much =/ For some eye candy, here's some info on the only guy I know to go off the deep end with the car: http://www.turbosmart.com.au/index.php?id=94

Anyway, I'm looking into getting an Evo X soon, dispite all the early hate on the car (oddy enough, mostly coming from Evo VIII and IX owners). Early tuing results are showing going from ~225whp stock to over 300whp with just intake/exhaust/FMIC work without a tune, still running at around a 10.0:1 AFR. Other shops have tuned, without any other modificaiton, and got nearly the same results, but adjusting AFR to 12.5:1. Can't wait til a shop gets around to doing both I'd like to get the MR since the SST transmission seems pretty awesome and the better suspension and brakes would be 1 less thing for me to worry about later. I'm not looking for major power (leave internals alone, prob stay with the stock turbo and book some dyno time after the basic breathing/cooling mods), so stressing the tranny withh insane power isnt a major worry for me *yet*. I'll let it sit in the tuner's shops for a few months before I buy, though. See if they manage to break it

So yea, I've done a lot of drag racing at Morosso in florida, but I really enjoy autocross a lot more. I never got into road racing due to lack of any good accessable tracks in south florida, but I see lots of good opertunity here and REALLY wana get involved. I've been practicing my lines in the carts at andretti in roswell

so here i am! flame away

    want the summary:

used to live in FL and did some racing there (drag & autox), but my FWD 2.4l NA car blows. Looking to get a new one, thinking of an Evo X MR. Up for any road course / autocross events once i get it (or whatever i decide on).

    better?

wow..totally miss the point there chief. Way to go off on random nonsense. My quote and response was directed at you saying "Thanks". Why does it bother you if they post in the wrong section, or try to sell something? Your trying way to hard to impress people on here bro. Dont deny that you arent, it's obvious.

ps: if you wanna look like a member thats been here for awhile...learn how to fukin quote properly.

nice, i used to play with the smart part's team (all americans, world champs for a bunch of years) back when I lived up north. I refused to switch to a shocker after they droped the belsales autocockers, so I wasn't alowed to play on their team after that i have a custom e-blade (r1) cocker now, but haven't played in a long time. any good fields around here?
